Care Goondiwindi Community Legal Service (CGCLS) Ideal Candidate
The CGCLS is seeking applicants that are keen to work in a genuinely remote location. Are you looking to roll up your sleeves and immerse yourself in a plethora of legal issues – from family law to criminal appearances? If so, a stint at Goondiwindi could be for you.
Placements include weekly clinics in two NSW indigenous communities. Goondiwindi sits on the NSW/QLD border, so would get experience practising across two jurisdictions.
If you care about social and geographic disadvantage, apply for this placement.

Goondiwindi is on the MacIntyre River in Queensland near the New South Wales border, 350 kilometres south west of the Queensland capital, Brisbane. The twin town of Boggabilla is nearby, on the New South Wales side of the border. Most of the area surrounding the town is farmland. The name Goondiwindi derives from an Aboriginal word meaning "the resting place of the birds".
There are some great fishing spots; the water skiing scene is good; and although there aren't many raging nightclubs, the local community is active.
