The Murray Mallee Community Legal Centre is currently seeking PLT students. A longer placement is preferred. There may be options of share housing to assist with costs of accommodation at students own expense.
The Murray Mallee Community Legal Service is pleased to offer Graduate Lawyers the opportunity to work in a very diverse Regional community that has many established and newly arrived members. The Service covers the Northern and Southern Mallee of Victoria and South West NSW, some 80,000 sq km.
The Service is looking for Graduates who are interested in Social Justice, Access to Law issues and Human Rights. Do you want to see what the rural communities have to offer; are you wondering what legal needs community legal centres assist with; do you have an interest in supporting Indigenous communities?

About this Legal Assistance Service (LAS):
Based in Mildura, and under the umbrella of Mallee Family Care, the Murray Mallee CLC services a geographical area covering approx 80,000 sq km. Its community includes the four local government areas of Wentworth, Balranald, Mildura and Swan Hill. The main centres are Mildura, Swan Hill, Robinvale (in Victoria) and Wentworth and Dareton (in NSW).
This legal service has a particular focus on family law with a dedicated position which provides family law advice to clients of the local Family Relationship Centre.
As a generalist community legal service their main areas of law in which assistance is provided are: criminal law, administrative law, employment law, family law and civil law including credit and debt matters.
The Centre has a high proportion of Indigenous clients and clients from culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) backgrounds.
